VR/AR online pilot project
At the end of 2020, we launched pilot online webinars for students and teachers in secondary schools in the Czech Republic focused on teaching virtual and augmented reality. In view of the pandemic situation and distance learning, we have thus brought pupils another opportunity to use modern technology in their education. Pupils had the opportunity to try out specific applications directly on their mobile phones and to debate online with the experts, developers and VR trainers present.
IKAP project for the Central Bohemia Region I.
We have successfully completed our large educational project Implementation of the Regional Action Plan for the Central Bohemian Region implemented from 1 April 2018 to 30 June 2020 for secondary school students and teachers. Specifically, our project activities helped to provide pupils with practical experience of entrepreneurship, to promote pupils’ interest in science and research, to strengthen digital competences of pupils and teachers, and especially to contribute to the use of ICT in teaching. The activities of VUPI have produced a number of interesting outcomes in the field of entrepreneurship promotion, in the use of virtual reality and in the popularisation of the results of research, development and innovation. Thanks to its participation in the project, VUPI has significantly expanded its know-how usable in terms of its development potential.
IKAP II project for the Central Bohemia Region
As a supplier, we implement educational activities in the field of virtual reality in teaching for teaching staff of primary and secondary schools with the aim of creative use of virtual reality in the creation of lessons and during the teaching itself.
For schools, we implement VR festivals that allow us to introduce this new teaching tool to secondary school teachers directly in schools, to demonstrate the possibilities it offers for teaching individual subjects and to motivate them to use it as widely as possible in their own teaching.
We will also implement training courses for teachers that cover the complex issues of using VR in teaching in schools. The course starts with a basic description of how computers work and the technical requirements for using virtual reality. It discusses how to connect different types of glasses to the computer and then shows how to set everything up. The training course includes a theoretical and a practical part. Participants will learn how to download and run the different programs, learn in detail how to work with educational applications and in the practical part they will also test this knowledge, and much more.
The activities are part of the project “Implementation of the Regional Action Plan II of the Central Bohemia Region” (IKAP II), reg. no.: CZ.02.3.68/0.0/0.0/19_078/0017862. The IKAP project is financed by the European Structural and Investment Funds under the Operational Programme Research, Development and Education (OP RDI).
